An inter-ministerial team, headed by special secretary of the Home Ministry BR Sharma, will visit Kerala from today for five days to assess the damage caused by the recent devastating floods.

The team is  visiting the state for



on-the-spot assessment of damage and additional requirement of funds. The move came after the Kerala government sent a detailed memorandum seeking 4,700 crore rupees as compensation for the damage occurred due to rains and floods in the state.
