Indian Railways 'Screenshots of Digital Unreserved Tickets Not Valid'

The Indian Railways have declared that Screenshot Images of Train Tickets are not valid anymore, as they are increasingly being subjected to tampering and might lead to compilations during ticket inspections. 

The updated rules are not applied for Reservation Tickets, as they are booked via verification using government-issued identity cards. 

The Indian Railways encourages travellers to carry a valid e-ticket on the IRCTC Rail Connect App,



which will be considered valid, along with the Seat Confirmation SMS sent by IRCTC.

The move aims to curb misuse of digital tickets, according to the Indian Railways. According to the updated digital ticket rules by the Indian Railways, Ticket screenshots, photographs of the tickets, and forwarded PDF copies are also not valid. 

Passengers should furnish the original ticket in the registered device from which the ticket is booked from.
