The government on Thursday strongly condemned the US Navy's attack on a vessel off the coast of Oman on Tuesday that claimed the lives of three Indian nationals,
and said such attacks must cease immediately. The remarks came a day after New Delhi summoned the US Charge d'affaires to formally protest the US Navy's strikes on two foreign-flagged vessels carrying Indian sailors.

Earlier on Thursday, a third tanker with Indian crew members on board was hit by US Hellfire missiles off the Omani



coast.

Addressing a media briefing, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal described the continuing attacks on commercial shipping in the region as deeply worrisome and linked them to the ongoing conflict in the region. He also urged all sides to return to dialogue and diplomac amid tensions in he Middle East.

"We condemn the attack on a ship off the coast of Oman in which, unfortunately, we lost three Indian nationals. We had summoned the US charge d'affaires here to register a strong protest." jaiswal said.
