Incessant rains since Thursday in several parts of coastal and interior Odisha have thrown normal life out of gear. 
Bhubaneswar Met office said the state will receive more rainfall over the next 24 hours under the impact of low-pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast which is very likely to intensify into a deep depression today.Incessant rain triggered by depression has forced the authorities of Similipal Tiger Reserve to close it for an indefinite period, after



reopened three days ago for tourists on Tuesday. 
Some portion of roads has been washed away while many roads have become slippery due to rain.Rains have forced people to stay indoors and commuters in some coastal towns facing a harrowing experience while manoeuvring through knee-deep water on roads. 
Following the IMD bulletin, the state government has asked the district collectors to keep a close watch on the situation and take necessary measures to deal with it.
