The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha today. Parts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and north-eastern states are also likely to witness heavy rainfall during the next 2-3 days. IMD further predicted thundersquall in parts of Madhya Pradesh



today.

Meanwhile, rain lashed Delhi-NCR last evening, bringing much-needed respite from the scorching summer heat. The National Capital and the adjoining NCR region are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall till Saturday. The MeT Department has issued a yellow alert for moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across the region for the next five days.
