IMD issues yellow alert for Mumbai & surrounding districts of Thane, Palghar, Konkan region for next two days

Mumbai: As heavy rain  with thunder lashing Mumbai since Friday afternoon, the India Meteorological Department - IMD issued a yellow alert for the city and the surrounding districts of Thane, Palghar and the Konkan region for the next two days. The IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rains and gusty winds very likely at isolated places for today and



tomorrow.

The city went under cloud cover and witnessing incessant rainfall from the afternoon, with parts of the city witnessing heavy rains and thunderstorms. Mumbai city, Thane and Kalyan recorded 70 to 100 mm rainfall each, whereas Dombivali recorded 121.5 mm rainfall and eastern suburbs of Mumbai recorded 40 to 70 mm rainfall till 4.30 pm since morning.
