The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Palghar district and Pune ghat area in Maharashtra. Orange alerts have been issued for Thane, Ratnagiri, Raigad, ghats of Nashik, ghats of Satara, Chandrapur, and Gadchiroli districts, while a yellow alert issued for several districts, including Mumbai.

The IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places, with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated locations in Palghar and ghat area of Pune district. The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall



at a few places in Thane, Ratnagiri, Raigad, ghats of Nashik, ghats of Satara, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts, accompanied by occasional strong surface winds. 

Heavy rainfall has also been reported in Nashik and level of Godavari river has risen. A group of 10 to 15 tourists who had gone to visit the Dugarwadi Waterfall near Trimbakeshwar in Nashik district became stranded due to the rising water levels. They were rescued by local authorities safely.
