Signalling the possibility of further intensification of the Southwest Monsoon in Kerala, the Met Department has issued an Orange Alert for six districts in the state today, warning of isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall. According to the latest weather bulletin released this evening, the districts of Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod are under Orange alert.

Tomorrow, Red Alert has been issued for



Kannur and Kasaragod districts, indicating the potential for extremely heavy rainfall. Nine other districts, including the hilly regions of Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Wayanad, will remain under Orange Alert.

The IMD has also issued Red Alert for five districts on Sunday and seven districts on Monday, as the monsoon system is expected to further intensify across the state.
