IMD issues alert for heavy rainfall in parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan over the next two days

The IMD has forecast that isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Gujarat region and southeast Rajasthan over the next two days. It has issued a ‘red’ alert for Gujarat, forecasting “heavy to extremely heavy rainfall”, from September 17 to 18. The IMD also issued an ‘orange’ alert for the state on September 19.

The Met Office said that



fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/thunderstorm & lightning with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over West Madhya Pradesh & North Konkan during the next 24 hours; North Madhya Maharashtra today; Gujarat Region & south Rajasthan during the next two days and Saurashtra & Kutch till 20th September.
