IMD forecasts heatwave in Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand

Indian Meteorological Department has said that heat wave conditions are expected in Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand today. It said, hot and humid weather is likely to prevail over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Bihar. Warm Night conditions are expected in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.

It said, light to moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds are expected in North-Eastern



States, Kerala, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Eastern Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Odisha today. Extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Meghalaya.

The Weatherman said, conditions are favourable for the advance of the southwest monsoon into some parts of the Andaman Sea, South Bay of Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.
