HM Dr.Harsh Vardhan reviews preparedness in states and Union Territories

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan reviewed the status of  actions taken by States and Union Territories and their preparedness regarding prevention, containment and management of COVID-19 in New Delhi yesterday. He also directed officials to scale up the capacity of round the clock Control Room Helpline 011-23978046 in view of increased volume of queries.

Dr Harsh Vardhan was apprised of the emerging international and national status on COVID-19, and the steps by Government of India and the States and Union Territories for prevention, containment and management of COVID-19. He



also advised the states and UTs for maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the hospitals and adhere to all laid down protocols for containment and management of COVID-19.

Dr Harsh Vardhan discussed the further measures to be taken for strengthening capacities of the states, mass awareness among the people for prevention through social distancing, work-from-home etc. 

Outcomes of the discussion of the meeting held yesterday will be put up to the Group of Ministers (GOM) on COVID-19, at their meeting today.
