HM Amit Shah approves release of over six thousand 194 crore rupees to 19 State governments under State Disaster Response Fund

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday approved the release of over six thousand 194 crore rupees to 19 State governments under the State Disaster Response Fund. The funds will help the states to undertake relief measures during the current Monsoon season.

The Home Ministry said a total of one thousand 209 crore rupees will be released to Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh for the year 2022-23. The Ministry said a total of four thousand 984 crore rupees will be released to Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh,



Assam, Bihar, Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Tripura for the year 2023-24. 

According to the Ministry, the Central Government has already approved the release of over three thousand six hundred crore rupees for the nine States during the current financial year. Based on the 15th Finance Commission recommendations, the Central Government has allocated over one lakh 28 thousand crore rupees for SDRF for the years 2021-22 to 2025-26.
