Hemkund Sahib, a revered symbol of faith and spirituality for Sikh devotees, was formally opened to pilgrims yesterday. Located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the sacred shrine’s doors were opened this morning with traditional rituals, witnessed by around 3,000 devotees who gathered for the momentous occasion.
The day began with the arrival of the first group of pilgrims, led by the Panj Pyare,
marking the official commencement of the pilgrimage. Following their arrival, the first Ardas (prayer) of the year was performed in the Gurudwara complex, filling the entire area with a profound spiritual atmosphere.
To ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims, extensive preparations were made by the local administration and the Gurdwara Management Committee.
