Some parts of Mumbai and its Suburbs are experiencing heavy rains since midnight, causing water logging in low lying areas of Sion, Hindmata. However, train services are normal.

Met Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Mumbai stating that a cyclonic circulation would bring more showers to the city in the next two days. Compared to Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts in Maharashtra have been warned of extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places today and tomorrow.

According to the Met department, a cyclonic circulation is developing near Mumbai, which will bring more showers to the city. The city has received hardly any showers in last 2-3 days but the situation is changing.

Although there is heavy rainfall warning for Mumbai, Raigad and Ratnagiri districts, the State government is planning to carry out cloud seeding for artificial rains in the Solapur-Osmanabad region.

Three planes for bringing about artificial rains in this region of Maharashtra along the borders of Karnataka and Telangana have arrived at the Solapur airport. Official are surveying the skies for cloud density and the first survey was conducted yesterday.

A radar has been deployed at the Revenue department's divisional office for cloud mapping. Solapur, Osmanabad and several districts from Marathwada and Vidarbha have received rainfall between 50-75 per cent of their average precipitation.
