Haryana Khap leaders have postponed the Jat quota agitation which was scheduled to commence from June 5. After meeting Khap leaders at Panchkula yesterday evening, Haryana Agriculture Minister Om Parkash Dhankhar and Haryana BJP President Subhash Barala confirmed that the Khap leaders have agreed to postpone their agitation. Mr Dhankar said if anybody will try to disturb law and order, stern action will be taken. He said, however, demands of Jat community will be considered sympathetically.
He said that government is committed to give compensation of 10 lakh rupees to kin of those innocent people who were killed during Jat quota agitation in February after verification.
However, Khap leader Yudhvir Singh has also confirmed that they had decided to postpone their agitation. He said that they were given patient hearing by the BJP leaders and they assured to consider their demand. He said that anti social elements during February agitation maligned the image of Jat community.
