Gunshots heard in Srinagar, 1 held

Srinagar: Gunshots were heard in the Lal Chowk market on Saturday triggering panic in public. 'Firing of gunshots has been reported from Lal Chowk area. We are investigating the incident,' a police official said.
According to reports, police fired a few rounds in the air to stop a mentally-challenged person who created panic in the public.
A senior police



official said that a person entered a hotel building and asked everyone to leave the place saying that the militants has entered the hotel.
Police officials rushed to the spot to nab the person who tried to evade from the place, forcing cops to fire warning shots.
The man was taken into the custody and was shifted to the local police station.
