In Gujarat, more than 10 thousand people have been shifted to safer places following the heavy rains and flood-like situation.

According to official sources, 508 persons have been rescued from the worst-hit five districts of the state.

State Revenue Minister Rajendra Trivedi has said that 18 teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed in flood-hit areas of South and Central Gujarat for rescue and relief works. Valsad district reeled under a flood-like situation amid heavy



rainfall for the last two days. 

The NDRF teams and local administration are engaged in relief and rescue works in the worst affected areas. Five persons stranded on top of their house in the Hinglaj area of Valsad were rescued by an Indian Coast Guard helicopter. District administrations in Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang Navsari, and Valsad have been put on high alert following the warning of heavy rain.
