GST Council meeting to be held today

The meeting of the Goods and Service Tax, GST Council will be held in New Delhi today which is likely to endorse supplementary legislations needed for implementation of the GST regime. The panel, which had at its last meeting approved the final draft of central GST and integrated GST laws, is expected to take up for approval the state GST and



Union Territory GST laws.

Once cleared by the Council, the Centre is keen to take it to the Cabinet latest by next week and then table it in Parliament.The current Parliament Session adjourns on 12th of next month and passage of the Bills in the current Session is essential for implementation of GST from 1st July.
