Govt to launch portal to collect information on building & construction workers

Secretary of Union Ministry of Labour and Employment Apurva Chandra has said that the government has proposed in the Union Budget to launch a portal which will collect information on building and construction workers among others and the work is on setting up of the portal by Directorate General of Labour Welfare.

 

Speaking to



media in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Chandra said, it will help formulate health, housing, skill, insurance, credit and food scheme for migrant workers.

 

On the four labour codes, Mr Chandra said, the rule making process is already underway and likely to be completed in the coming week.
