Govt notifies national 'Early Childhood Care and Education' policy

Government has notified the national 'Early Childhood Care and Education' policy. Its aims is to achieve holistic development of children below six years of age. This was informed by Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in the Lok Sabha yesterday. 

He was replying to a query about the Centre's



reaction to a UNICEF Survey that indicated 34 per cent of Muslim and 25 per cent of Christian children below six years do not attend pre-school. Mr Naqvi said, the government has reaffirmed its commitment to promote early childhood care and education by formulating and notifying National Early Childhood Care and Education policy.
