Government has said it is committed to fulfill the provisions made in the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act 2014. Intervening in the short duration discussion on status of the implementation of the act in the Rajya Sabha Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said, the government has taken several steps to fulfill its commitment. He said, institutions like IIT, IIIT, AIIMS are being established in the state.
Mr Naidu said,



under the 'housing for all' scheme 1 lakh 93 thousand houses have been sanctioned for Andhra Pradesh. Initiating the discussion, Jairam Ramesh of Congress asked the government to fulfill the assurance given by the then Prime Minister in the house about the special status for the development of successor of Andhra Pradesh for five years. Members, cutting across party lines supported the demand of special status to Andhra Pradesh.
