A gold braid was offered to Goddess Kanaka Durga at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam, popularly known as the Kanaka Durga Temple, on Sunday. Temple Trust Board Chairman Borra Radha Krishna and his family offered the gold braid, weighing 119.5 grams, to the goddess. 

They handed it over to temple Executive Officer V.K. Srinivas Naik and the priests. The traditional gold braid features intricately crafted motifs of Goddess Lakshmi and



other divine figures.

It is adorned with green precious stones and pearls along the lower portion. The ornament is valued at approximately Rs. 11 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, Borra Radha Krishna said he had got the idea of offering a gold braid to Goddess Kanaka Durga around 20 years ago. He said the offering was finally completed with the support of his family members and friends after he became the Temple Trust Board Chairman.
