The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, GJM asked the Centre to initiate a dialogue on the demand for a separate Gorkhaland, saying it was not a mere law and order problem.

West Bengal District Administration extended the restriction imposed on internet services for another eight days in Darjeeling, to halt rumours from spreading through social media. 

The boarding schools of Darjeeling, which were scheduled to reopen today, have extended their vacation due to the indefinite shutdown in the hills.
