Full team of Election Commission on 3-day visit to Assam to review poll preparedness

The full team of Election Commission of India (ECI) led by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora is on a three-day visit to Assam to review the poll preparedness for the upcoming Assembly elections in the State. After their arrival yesterday, the team held a meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer of Assam and Nodal Security officer in Guwahati last evening.

 

Today, the Election Commission will hold



meetings with representatives of various political parties. The team will also hold meetings with District Election Officers and Superintendents of Police of all districts. Before wrapping up their visit, the Election Commission team will meet Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other senior officials of the state. Assembly polls in Assam is scheduled to be held later this year.
