A freak accident took place in Bengaluru late last night killing seven people. A speeding Audi Q3 SUV went out of control and climbed onto the walkway before colliding into a Punjab National Bank branch housed in a building in Bengaluru's Koramangala. The accident reportedly took place on an 80-foot road between 1 and 2 am late night.

Among the casualties are the son of Hosur MLA Prakaash Y of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Karunasagar, and the deceased's wife Bindu, according to the authorities.

Names of other five victims of the car crash are reportedly Ishita, Dhanush, Akshay, Goyal, and Rohit. They were all between the ages of 20 and 30, and they were staying in a downtown hotel.

CCTV captured the horrific visuals from a nearby building and revealed that the SUV was speeding way beyond permissible city speed limits. The Audi drove into and destroyed all of the safety barriers set on the pathway, as can be seen in the footage. The vehicle then rammed into the building and bounced back to a standstill, as a tire was flung in the air.

MLA Prakaash Y, who lost his son, belongs to Hosur, a district in Tamil Nadu that borders Bengaluru and is around 40 kilometres away.

It appears from the surveillance tape that it was pouring at the time of the collision. The automobile's front was completely damaged in the car crash, as per footage from the site.
