Wanaparthy: A seven-foot python which got entangled in a fishing net in a tank on the outskirts of Madigatla village in Pedamandadi mandal of Wanaparthy district, was rescued by members of Sagar Snake Society on Wednesday. It was later released into the Nallamalla forest.

Some fishermen had cast out a fishing net in the tank to catch some fish. However, a local Prasad discovered that a python has been caught in the net and immediately alerted C Krishna Sagar,



founder of Sagar Snake Society who in turn rushed to the spot. The members of the Snake Society and the locals joined hands to free the python from the net.

Speaking to media , Krishna Sagar said the python which weighed around 5 kg, suffered minor injuries. After attending to the injuries, the reptile was released into the wild in the Nallamala forest with the help of the Forest department staff. People in the locality took a sigh of relief, after the snake was caught.
