Faisal Khan, popularly known as "Khan Sir," approached a court in Bihar's Patna on Saturday to seek anticipatory bail after his name surfaced in the FIR registered in connection with vandalism at his coaching centre in the city. His lawyer said that the renowned educator has been named in the case as part of a conspiracy orchestrated by the director of a rival coaching institute.
This comes days after a group of 15?20 people allegedly vandalised the Khan Global Studies Institute and pelted stones on its premises. The incident took place on Tuesday night. Later, on Thursday, June 4, the police detained two guards employed by Khan's coaching centre for allegedly firing shots during the vandalism.
The detention followed a viral video
purportedly showing the guards firing shots. however, could not independently verify the clip's authenticity.
He asserted that Khan's name was wrongly inserted in the FIR to falsely implicate him. "This is an attempt to frame him (Khan) and defame him. We will file an anticipatory bail plea," Mavvar said.
The lawyer said that the shots were fired by the guards in self-defence. Soon after the vandalism incident, Khan had alleged that people from a rival coaching institute were behind the firing, though he later said only a police probe could confirm whether the firing had actually occurred.
Members of a rival coaching institute had held a press conference on Thursday, alleging that Khan himself orchestrated the incident.
