Executive Committee of Indian Institute of Mass Communication approves permanent faculty positions for all regional IIMCs

The Executive Committee of Indian Institute of Mass Communication has approved permanent faculty positions for all regional IIMCs. The EC meeting approved new faculty positions for the IIMC Campuses at Dhenkanal, Aizawl, Amravati, Jammu and Kottayam. Chairing the meeting in New Delhi yesterday, Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Amit Khare said the institute should seek approval for creating the



entire range of posts that are mandated for such institutions. He said it was imperative that IIMC ensures an adequate faculty strength as it moves towards a 'Deemed to be University' status. The Secretary said existing faculty should be given proper avenues of career advancement and positions which continue to remain vacant should be filled through recruitment.
