The Election Commission has allotted broadcast and telecast time to National and State political parties for the forthcoming Assembly polls in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram. 

In its order, the poll panel said, a base time of 45 minutes will be given to each National Party and Recognised State Party. It said, the facilities will be available from the Regional Kendras of All India Radio and Doordarshan and in the headquarters of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram and relayed by other stations within the states. It said, in a single session of broadcast, no party will be allocated more than 15 minutes.
  
The period of broadcast and telecast will be between the last date of



filing the nominations for the first phase of polls and two days before the date of poll in each phase in these states.
     
The Prasar Bharati, in consultation with the Commission, will decide the actual date and time for broadcast and telecast. In addition to the broadcast by parties, the Prasar Bharati will organise a maximum of two panel discussions or debates on the Station of All India Radio and Doordarshan.

The Election Commission also said, the broadcast will not permit criticism of other countries, attack on religions or communities, anything obscene or defamatory, anything that incites violence and anything amounting to contempt of court.
