NEW DELHI, OCT 25:
Dr Reddy’s Laboratories today reported a decline of 60.12 per cent in consolidated net profit for the September quarter at Rs. 30.89 crores, mainly because of a drop in sales in Venezuela and North America.

Its total expenses were up 4.49 per cent to Rs. 325.15 crore as against

Rs. 311.17 crore last year.

“The gross profit margin declined by 56 per cent ... primarily on account of lower sales due to increased competitive intensity in some of our key molecules in the US,” the company said.

“Revenues from the global generic segment was at Rs. 29 billion, a year-on-year decline of 12 pe cent; decrease primarily on account of the lower contribution from North America and loss of sales from Venezuela,” it added.
