Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has emphasised the importance of engaging the youth in security and various services for the nation, environmental activism, cultural preservation, and experiential learning. He was addressing the online meeting of National Service Scheme (NSS) office bearers of all the states yesterday. Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the need to redefine ‘Seva’ in the context of current global challenges. He also recalled his experience as a former NSS volunteer.

The State Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil emphasised the blood shortage in an emergency and appealed to college youth and students in



the National Service Scheme to register themselves as Civil Defence Warriors on the ‘MY Bharat’ portal to realise their dream of serving the country by donating blood.

Mr Patil further said that registration can be done on mybharat.gov.in/pages/civil_registration. He asked cadets, students and NSS office bearers to mention the period of their life to donate to the nation. He informed that the registration will be done at the district level, and the relevant information will also be given to the District Collector’s Office. In times of disaster or war, the help of these Civil Defence Warriors will be sought.
