Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar made a surprise visit to a government college hostel at Kanakapura in Bengaluru South district, had lunch with students and heard their grievances, including those related to hostel facilities and bus services.
Shivakumar visited the boys' hostel of Dr B R Ambedkar Government College on September 13 and inspected its rooms and toilets, a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office said.
He also asked students to write down their
grievances and assured them that the issues would be reviewed and addressed. "I made an unannounced visit to the hostel in Kanakapura, had lunch with the students and interacted with them. I inspected the rooms and toilets here. I noticed that they do not have bedsheets.
I got them to write down their problems themselves," he said. Shivakumar said students from Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bidar, Haveri, Bengaluru and Ballari were studying at the hostel and had been provided free bus passes.
