BRS MLC K Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, along with few others paid kickbacks to the tune of Rs 100 crore to Aam Aadmi Party’s Vijay Nair for facilitating liquor business in New Delhi when the new excise policy was brought in by the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, the Enforcement Directorate has alleged in its chargesheet.
The financial probe agency has also alleged that Kavitha was also involved and participant in business of liquor in Delhi after new excise policy was brought in by the Delhi government.
“Kickbacks to the tune of Rs 100 crore (approximately) was given by the South group (Ms K Kavitha, Sh Raghav Magunta, Sh MS Reddy and Sh Sarath Reddy) to the Sh Vijay Nair on behalf of AAP leaders
in exchange of undue favours in the excise policy 2021-22,” reads the ED chargesheet.
The agency has alleged that the entire conspiracy was hatched among AAP’s Vijay Nair, businessman Sameer Mahendru, South Group involving K Kavitha along with others.
“The partnership of Indo Spirits is further a result of conspiracy by Sh Sameer Mahandru with other persons such as, Sh Arun Pillai, Ms K Kavitha, Sh Raghav Magunta, Sh MSR, Sh Abhishek Boinpally, Sh Buchi Babu etc for recouping/ recovering the kickbacks of Rs. 100 Cr approx. paid in advance to the AAP leaders through its representative Vijay Nair. Sh Arun, Sh Abhishek and Sh Buchi Babu were working on behalf of Sh Sarath Reddy, Sh MS and Ms K Kavitha in Delhi,” adds the chargesheet.
