Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday laid the foundation stone of a 500 kw Solar Power Plant at Delhi Vidhan Sabha. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to clean energy adoption and environmental sustainability.

Addressing the event, Delhi LG Vinay Kumar Saxena said that this 500 kw solar power plant represents a genuine commitment by the government to environmental sustainability. He noted that the Delhi Government is actively promoting solar energy initiatives. He remarked that the Delhi Assembly is a distinctive heritage site that reminds us of our responsibilities. Mr Saxena said that this



initiative demonstrates that the current government of Delhi possesses a visionary outlook. It signifies not merely the establishment of a plant but the inception of innovation.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said our government is dedicated to the mission of Clean Delhi, Green Delhi. She noted that the current electricity consumption of the National Capital stands at eight thousand megawatts, presenting a challenge to meet this demand. She added that this 500 kw Solar Power Plant is expected to reduce electricity costs by 15 lakh rupees. Mrs Gupta said that this reduction in expenditure will benefit the residents of Delhi.
