Delhi LG expresses concern over MCD worker's strike

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung has expressed concern over the situation in Delhi following the strike by MCD workers. Mr Jung has written to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Deputy Manish Sisodia recommending to extend conditional loans or grants to the civic bodies so they can pay salaries to their employees.

said, Mr Jung has also asked the Chief Secretary and the Secretary, Urban Development, to find a solution to the problem caused by the strike. The strike by MCD workers entered 8th day today. The workers are demanding regular payment of salaries, payment of arrears, regularisation of contractual employees and cashless health cards among others.
