Cuttack to Get 870-Acre ‘Silicon Valley’

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced plans to develop an 870-acre technology hub at Naraj near Cuttack, which will be branded as the “Odisha Silicon Valley” and cater to semiconductor, electronics and IT industries. 

The announcement came at Semicon India 2026 in New Delhi, where Odisha received investment proposals worth around Rs 23,600 crore, with the potential to create nearly 6,100 jobs, according to the state government.

The proposed technology hub is strategically located along the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar urban



corridor and has connectivity to the ports of Paradip and Dhamra as well as major national highways. 

The government said the location would facilitate semiconductor manufacturing, logistics and allied industries. During the event, Mr Majhi held discussions with representatives of global and domestic technology companies, industry bodies and delegations from Japan, Sweden and Taiwan. 

Among the companies that engaged with the Odisha delegation were Lam Research, Applied Materials, SiCSem, 3D Glass Solutions, Cyient, Linde and HORIBA India.
