Crescent moon sighted, Ramzan to start from tomorrow

The holy month of Ramzan will commence from Thursday in the State.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (moon sighting) committee met on Wednesday at its office at M J Market and, after discussion, announced that the new moon was sighted at various places and hence the



first ‘roza’ will commence from Thursday.

Soon after the announcement was made, hectic activity was witnessed across the city, with people rushing to make last-minute preparations for the ‘taraweeh prayers’ conducted after the Isha prayers at almost all mosques.
