Congress Moves Adjournment Notices Over Police Action on Students

The Congress on Monday moved adjournment and suspension of business notices in both Houses of Parliament, demanding an immediate discussion on the alleged use of excessive force by security personnel against students protesting over alleged irregularities in the NEET and CBSE examinations. 

The notices follow the "Chalo Sansad" march held on July 20, during which students marching from



Jantar Mantar towards Parliament were dispersed by the Delhi Police and the Rapid Action Force (RAF) using lathi-charge and tear gas, according to reports.

In the Lok Sabha, Congress General Secretary and MP K.C. Venugopal submitted an Adjournment Motion seeking a discussion on what he described as the "brutal, unprovoked, and disproportionate" use of force against peacefully protesting students.
