Bengaluru: Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot will administer the Oath of office to the Congress Legislative Party leader Siddaramaiah as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Another senior leader D K Shivakumar will be sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister.

The number of legislators to be sworn in as Ministers is yet to be announced. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi and daughter Priyanka Gandhi are invited to the ceremony. Congress National President has invited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah.

The CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury has also been invited. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu are



among the invitees.

Akashvani Correspondent reports, the 75 years old Siddaramaiah who was the Chief Minister of Karnataka for five years from 2013 to 2018 is getting a second term to occupy the top seat again now.

Kanteerava stadium was the venue for swearing-in during the previous stint too. This time he will be sworn in, in the presence of various leaders from different parties.

An LED screen is put on stage and two smaller screens are put up on either side of the stage. Red carpets are rolled out on the running tracks and the ground in the centre.

Around 1800 police personnel have been deployed around the venue. Entry is by the passes and separate entry is arranged for those without passes. Traffic regulations are imposed around the stadium.
