Cold wave grips Kashmir

An intense cold wave has gripped Kashmir and Ladakh region with minimum temperature dropping to minus 3 degrees below the freezing point in Srinagar on Thursday.
The MeT department said the minimum temperature in Srinagar plummeted to minus 3 degree Celsius, down from the previous night’s



minus 2.3 degree Celsius. Tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, which also serves as a base camp during annual Amarnath Yatra, recorded minimum temperature of minus 5.1 degree Celsius while ski resort of Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 5.0 degree Celsius, he said.
