CM Vijay Announces Extension of Free Bus Travel for Differently-abled

Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay who is also the minister for the Differently-abled Welfare on Monday announced the extension of free bus pass scheme for the differently abled in ordinary buses to all the buses except air conditioned ones. 

While replying to the discussion on demands for grants to the ministry, the Chief Minister said the free bus scheme for the differently-abled with a helper in



ordinary buses would be extended to the Express, LSS and deluxe buses except air-conditioned buses, the minister announced.

He said scooters with a low height fitted with specially designed wheels would be distributed to differently-abled persons whose legs were affected but hands are functioning well. This would help the differently-abled persons whose legs are affected to travel for their education and jobs.
