Wondering if India was sliding towards dictatorship, Chief Minister M K Stalin raised a red flag over a looming ‘delimitation danger’ and warned the Union Government against turning ‘a gentle breeze in the South into a storm.
' Raising a series of questions on the delimitation process to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, Stalin, in his X message, asked why the Union BJP government kept the entire
delimitation process under wraps without transparently announcing how it intended to conduct it.
He wanted to know what Modi’s reaction was to the demand placed by the southern States that he should follow the footsteps of former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee, who deferred delimitation for 25 years in 2001, and what was the urgent need to convene a special session of Parliament right in the middle of elections in five States.
