Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday reviewed the search operations for seven fishermen from the Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district who went missing at sea earlier this month.
During a review meeting with fisheries officials at his camp office, Naidu sought details of the circumstances surrounding the incident and the steps taken to trace the fishermen.
The missing fishermen belonged to Odalarevu, Dummalapeta and Vasalatippa villages in Allavaram
mandal.
The seven fishermen had ventured into the sea on August 3 after informing their families that they would return after 10 days.
However, their families sent a ‘missing’ complaint to the authorities on August 16. Search operations were subsequently launched with the assistance of the Coast Guard and Marine Police.
The officials said the state fisheries department had already coordinated with the Coast Guard headquarters in Chennai.
