Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari has expressed serious anger over the poor functioning of district education department officials in enrolling the students at government schools as part of ‘Badi Bata’.
He found fault with the officials for failing to provide village and mandal-wise details of students studying at government and private schools. He expressed ire at the officials’ failure in meeting the target set to achieve in enrolling new students as part of Badi Bata.
At least five students should be enrolled additionally in every class, drop outs should be readmitted and realistic



figures should be given in terms of enrollment of students.
 If anyone gives false figures serious action would be taken against such officials, he cautioned.Referring to non-attendance of several MEOs at the meeting, the Deputy CM has directed DEO P Rajiv to issue show-cause notices to them. A full scale review meeting would be held on July 15 and the officials should come to the meeting with comprehensive data on the functioning of the department. Efforts should be made to commence classes at newly established residential schools by July 10, Srihari directed the officials.
