Minister for Food and Civil Supplies P. Venkataramanan on Friday conducted a surprise inspection at the Amudham departmental store, operating in the Ramapuram–Manapakkam area of Chennai.
The minister reviewed the inventory levels, product quality, maintenance standards, and distribution procedures to ensure smooth service for the general public.
The inspection
focused extensively on the overall cleanliness of the premises, proper stacking of goods, and the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities without any shortage.
The minister instructed the staff to ensure that all items provided to the public meet high quality standards and correct weight measurements, while emphasizing that sales receipts must be issued mandatorily for every transaction.
