Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi reviewed the poll preparedness in Punjab yesterday ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections in the state. Mr Zaidi, along with other Election Commissioners, held meetings with nodal officers in Chandigarh to take stock of the preparedness.

An official spokesman said, the Commission also met with the representatives of political parties, including ruling Shiromani Akali Dal and opposition Congress. The Commission will hold meetings with police and administrative officials today. Punjab goes to polls on the 4th of next month.
