Chennai Metro Records 1.04 cr Passenger Journeys in Aug

Chennai Metro Rail recorded more than 1.04 crore passenger journeys in August with August 14 witnessing the highest single-day ridership of the month, Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) said on Tuesday. 

A total of 1,04,04,098 passengers travelled on Metro trains between August 1 and August 31. On August 14, the Metro recorded its highest daily passenger flow during the month, with 4,01,607 passengers using the



service.

The NCMC Singara Chennai Card remained the most widely used ticketing option, accounting for 52,84,196 passenger journeys during the month. Among digital ticketing platforms, ONDC accounted for 12,47,168 passengers, followed by WhatsApp ticketing with 4,69,198 passengers. 

The Chennai One App recorded 3,10,474 passengers, while Paytm and PhonePe accounted for 3,09,569 and 2,73,438 passengers, respectively.
