A man in Chennai found a blood-stained bandage in the food he had ordered through Swiggy.

Taking to Facebook, the customer narrated his ordeal that he faced after ordering food through the Swiggy app.

On Sunday, Balamurugan, a resident of Selaiyur, had placed an order from a restaurant named 'Chop N Stix'. It was only after eating half his food that Balamurugan found a used bandage lurking in his noodles.

He also alleged that the customer care service of the Swiggy app didn't respond to his complaint.

He had tried to contact the restaurant but said that they were totally insensitive about the matter and only tried to replace the order.

He also shared screenshots of chats with Swiggy.

Balamurugan said that he wanted the restaurants to use

adequate methods for food safety as there was a lot of chances for him to contract any disease due to the infected bandage in his food.

Though Swiggy has promised to look into the matter, but Balamurugan had found out that the app is still taking orders from the restaurant.

"We understand that consumers trust Swiggy with their health and safety, and are committed to working with restaurants to ensure that only hygienic and quality food is delivered to them. We deeply regret the issue faced by one of our users and apologise for the angst it has caused. This is certainly not the level of service we intend to promote," Swiggy stated.

Based on the complaint the restaurant has acknowledged a lapse at its end. They have reportedly suspended this outlet pending further investigation by an external agency.
