Chandrababu Naidu 'Welfare of the Poor Is Our Priority'

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said that the welfare of the poor remains the top priority of his government.

 He was addressing a public meeting under the ?Pedala Sevalo? programme at Chamavaram in Tuni constituency of Kakinada district. 

The Chief Minister described June 4 as a historic day, marking the State?s liberation from what he termed a ?destructive regime,? and said the coalition government assumed power with the support of the people.

measures, Naidu said pensions were increased by Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000, while pensions for persons with disabilities were raised to Rs 6,000. 

Health pensions have been enhanced up to Rs 10,000?Rs 15,000. He noted that Rs 65,887 crore has been disbursed under the NTR Bharosa pension scheme since July 2024, with an annual outlay of nearly Rs 32,000 crore. He said that this month alone, pensions worth Rs 2,729 crore are being distributed to 62.34 lakh beneficiaries. Additionally, Rs 2.24 crore has been sanctioned for 5,606 new spouse pension beneficiaries.
