Chandigarh to host 2nd Agricultural Deputies Meeting of AWG from March 29 to 31

Chandigarh: The second Agricultural Deputies Meeting of Agricultural Working Group is going to be held from 29th March to 31st March 2023 at Chandigarh. The delegates from 19 member countries, 10 invited countries and 10 International Organizations will be part of the second Agricultural Deputies Meeting.

On the first day of the meeting, AMIS Secretariat will be organizing the 12th session of the AMIS Rapid Response Forum, which will highlight the food market situation, status and development, identifying capacity building needs and the impact of financial factors on importing countries. The AMIS RRF will provide a vision for future progress of the initiative.

The second and third day



will be dedicated for drafting of the Communiqué along with the member countries, which will be focusing on the four thematic areas viz. food security and nutrition, sustainable agriculture with climate smart approach, inclusive agricultural value chains and food systems and digitalization for agricultural transformation, which were put forth in the Issue Note during first ADM of AWG.

To experience the rich cultural heritage of Chandigarh as well as to get a flavour of diversified Indian cuisine, the delegates will be taken for a visit to the food festival at Rock Garden, excursion to Sukhna lake followed by a gala dinner and visit to the Yadavindra Gardens at Pinjore.
